Flood Mitigation Grant Program   Projects authorized by a flood protection authority, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) or the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) or identified by a local government for flood mitigation are eligible for the program
H2O PA – Grant Program for Flood Control Projects   Projects which involve construction, improvement, repair or rehabilitation of all or part of a flood control system
Water Supply and Wastewater Infrastructure Program (PennWorks) – Grants and Low-Interest Loans   For water and sewer projects not used solely for residential purposes: Land and building acquisition; Demolition; Water/sewer project construction costs; Engineering and other fees associated with project
PA American Water Environmental Grant Program   Environmental sustainability activities such as watershed cleanups, reforestation efforts, biodiversity projects, streamside buffer restoration projects and hazardous waste collection efforts
PA League of Women Voters - Water Resources Education Network Grants   Water Education Grants & Source Water Protection Education Grants
Watershed Restoration and Protection Program (WRPP) Grants   Projects which involve the construction, improvement, expansion, repair, maintenance or rehabilitation of new or existing watershed protection Best Management Practices (BMPs)
FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program   Provides grants to states and local governments to implement long-term hazard mitigation measures after a major disaster declaration.
FEMA Pre-Disaster Mitigation Grant Program   Provides funds to states, territories, Indian tribal governments, communities, and universities for hazard mitigation planning and the implementation of mitigation projects prior to a disaster event.
FEMA Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant Program   FEMA provides FMA funds to assist States and communities implement measures that reduce or eliminate the long-term risk of flood damage to buildings, manufactured homes, and other structures insured under NFIP
EPA Watershed Funding Toolbox   Committed watershed organizations and state and local governments need adequate resources to achieve the goals of the Clean Water Act and improve our nation's water quality. To support these efforts, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has created this Web site to provide tools, databases, and information about sources of funding to practitioners and funders that serve to protect watersheds.
Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds: ARRA Implementation   The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 provides significant funding for states to finance high priority infrastructure projects needed to ensure clean water and safe drinking water. The Clean Water State Revolving Fund program, in place since 1987, received $4 billion, including funds for Water Quality Management Planning Grants. The Drinking Water State Revolving Fund program, in place since 1997, received $2 billion.
EPA is making Recovery Act grants to states and Puerto Rico to capitalize their State Revolving Fund (SRF) programs, from which assistance is provided to finance eligible high priority water infrastructure projects. The states will set priorities based on public health and environmental factors, in addition to readiness to proceed to construction, and identify which projects will receive funding. States must provide at least 20% of their grants for green projects, including green infrastructure, energy or water efficiency, and environmentally innovative activities.
Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds Grants   Supports the efforts of citizens’ organizations, such as watershed associations, Trout Unlimited chapters, Waterkeepers and conservation districts to protect clean and healthy waters around the state; and to clean up and restore polluted and degraded waters.
DCNR Wild Resource Conservation Grants   The Wild Resource Conservation Program is Pennsylvania’s biodiversity conservation program. As part of DCNR, and working closely with the Pennsylvania Game Commission and Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, we work to conserve Pennsylvania’s non-game animals, wild plants, and their habitats. Our mission is to identify and prioritize research and conservation needs, provide grants to fill those needs, and ensure the flow of information between researchers, conservationists, and educators.

Natural Resources Conservation Service Grants & Technical Assistance   NRCS offers voluntary programs to eligible landowners and agricultural producers to provide financial and technical assistance to help manage natural resources in a sustainable manner.  Through these programs the agency approves contracts to provide financial assistance to help plan and implement conservation practices that address natural resource concerns or opportunities to help save energy, improve soil, water, plant, air, animal and related resources on agricultural lands and non-industrial private forest land

Captain Planet Foundation Grants   Grants are made for activities that conform to the mission of the Captain Planet Foundation which is:  To give the next generation of environmental stewards an active understanding and love for the natural world in which they live. Our unique program of funding and supporting hands-on environmental projects is designed to encourage innovative initiatives that inspire and empower children and youth around the world as they work individually and collectively creating environmental solutions in their homes, schools and communities.
Heinz Endowment Grants   Initiatives are funded in the following target areas: Environment, Community & Economic Development, Arts & Culture, Education, and Children, Youth, & Families
Laurel Foundation Grants   With an emphasis on outcomes and accountability, grants will focus on programs that offer long-term benefits for participants and the community. The Foundation favors programs that foster individual responsibility and self-sufficiency, exhibit a commitment to sound fiscal and program management, implement collaborative efforts, and demonstrate measurable outcomes.  In 2013, grants were awarded in the following main categories: Environment, Education, Public/Society Benefit, and Arts & Culture
Hillman Foundation Grants   Hillman Family Foundations is the administrative and program office for the 18 named Foundations associated with the Hillman family.  Visit the individual foundation links on this page to view grant opportunities.
Colcom Foundation Grants   Colcom Foundation’s principal funding interests reflect a primary concern for quality of life, which it strives to address with honesty, compassion and responsibility. Through the practice of strategic grantmaking, the Foundation focuses its philanthropic program on environmental sustainability, natural resource preservation, land and water conservation, and efforts to establish a sustainable population.
USDA Water and Environmental Programs – Grants and Low-Interest Loans   Provides loans, grants and loan guarantees for drinking water, sanitary sewer, solid waste and storm drainage facilities in rural areas and cities and towns of 10,000 or less. Public bodies, non-profit organizations and recognized Indian tribes may qualify for assistance. WEP also makes grants to nonprofit organizations to provide technical assistance and training to assist rural communities with their water, wastewater, and solid waste problems
USDA Rural Development Grant Assistance – Grants, Loans, and Other Assistance   Program assistance is provided in many ways, including direct or guaranteed loans, grants, technical assistance, research and educational materials.  Visit the individual sites for more information.
ESRI Grants Program
  ESRI offers a variety of programs to support groups and individuals working for social and environmental benefit. We offer free or discounted software, hardware, data, training, and services for both online and desktop use. We also sponsor many community events for nonprofits including conferences, workshops, and classes
US Fish & Wildlife Grants   The Fish and Wildlife Service administers a variety of natural resource assistance grants to governmental, public and private organizations, groups and individuals. Follow links to information about and applications for available grants. 
Coldwater Heritage Partnership Grant   Coldwater Conservation Plans are useful in building local awareness and support for the long-term stewardship of coldwater streams and their surrounding watersheds. The plans are meant to identify potential problems and opportunities for stream conservation, and may often also lead to more detailed watershed studies or projects, ultimately improving the health of coldwater ecosystems. Grants of approximately $5,000 will be awarded for the creation of a Coldwater Conservation plan that will ultimately conserve and protect the coldwater streams of Pennsylvania.
